There’s a Train Wreck, Where is NTSB!? October 28, 2008

I have one question. What the hell is going on with the Republicans and their party?! Even though
I’m a progressive (which means I have a conscious) I have admired the way the Republicans stick together no matter how bad the policies they were trying to push. These days it is like watching a train wreck! It started with the Washington “cocktail” conservative pundits who started saying crazy (true) stuff about Ms. Palin and how she wasn’t qualified to be VP let alone P! Then there was Colin Powell’s endoresment of Obama. After he jumped ship the rest of the rats started leaping. The Presidential election is a week away and there have been some snipes internal to the McCain campaign between staffers and Gov. Palin. Apparently they think she is a Diva. Honeys, I’ve known divas and let me tell you, she’s no diva! There is also talk of the GOP pulling support back from the campaign to shore up congressional candidates.
And if that were not bad enough Uncle Ted was just convicted in Federal court for lying about receiving gifts from Veco the oil services company. Say it ain’t so Uncle Ted?! With all this turmoil and infighting in the party there is nothing less than a fight for the soul.. Sory, laughing right now… of the Republican party if McCain doesn’t win this election. With all the turmoil, mis-steps, fumbles and bumbles you would think they had mistakenly stolen the Democratic playbook on how not to win an election! Hold on, did I just hear another train??

We are in the home stretch of this crazy election so the last thing you want is to go to the polls on election day and discovery you can’t vote!! Here is a site that should point you to your state board of elections to let you know if you are registered to vote. You should also take note that it is not too late in many states to register. Even though registration officially ended in Illinois on 10/7/08 we have a grace period until 10/21/08 so don’t be discouraged.
Also, make sure to pass this information on to friends who are in swing states since those are the true battle grounds for this election.

Speaking to my previous post I think this video says it all about McCain’s recent campaign of division and fear.

Though I have not liked McCain’s policies for the past few years I never thought he was a bad person. He’s just been hanging around bad people. I actually used to admire the man in a way from my left looking goggles. But as we all know his campaign has recently turned to the gutter Rovian politics that he so abhorred back in 2000. It is almost tragic in a way to watch a man in this last desperate attempt to become President in the golden years of his life. But he was the one who let out this racist genie who’s only wish is to see the destruction of Sen. Obama. Once that genie is out of the bottle it is almost impossible to put him back in.
Below is a piece from Friday’s Countdown which sheds light on the state of McCain, his campaign and those who follow him.

This Summer I hung up the keys to my car and put my bus pass in the back of my wallet. I started out with a simple goal which was to ride my bike to work in an effort to get in shape. Though I didn’t gain any additional weight, I didn’t lose any either.
But shortly after I started riding I thought it would be a good idea to track my commuting pattern with a calendar. Below are the vital statistics I from this Summer’s endeavors.
- Tracked dates from May 5th thru September 30th.
- Bicycled to work 69 times
- Round trip mileage 19
- Total miles to and from work 1311
- Took Public Transportation to work 18 times
- Drove to work 6 times
- Saved $276 by riding my bike to work this Summer instead of taking public transportation
Though I may not have lost 20 pounds, I did keep some green in my pocket while being very green! I still plan to ride to work when the weather is good but for the most part I will probably be taking the bus more now that it is getting colder.
