Family reunion 2007 August 16, 2007

There is so much to talk about that I just don’t know where to begin. So let’s start with the most obvious place. Wal-Mart! Did you know that Bentonville, Arkansas is the home of this retail jaugernaut?? Did you also know that Wal-mart was the world’s largest retailer?? Here are some more fun facts you may not be aware of. I mention this because I spent more time in Wal-mart this past weekend than I care to spend in a lifetime! I think I was there a total of 6 times over the 4 days I was in Arkansas. I know it’s crazy, but I digress. Back to the reunion festivities!

The family reunion met and exceeded my expectations. How it met my expectations: It was hot as hell, mosquitos were out of control, crazy relatives were represented (You know who you are!). Let’s see, did I mention it was hot as hell? That one needs to be said several times. IT WAS HOT AS HELL!!! The high temperature in Pine Bluff never went below 100 degrees. When anyone says, “Oh once you get above 90 degrees it all feels the same.” That’s bull shit! I could tell the difference! Ninety degrees would have been an ice age! How did the reunion exceed my expectations, you ask? I actually had a great time! And you thought I was going to say something really caddy. I expected to have a decent time but I really did enjoy myself. It is always good to see family and I will be the first to admit I don’t do it enough. I especially enjoyed watching cousins I grew up with chasing after kids of their own. Fun times…for me!

The next family reunion is scheduled for 2009 in Portland, OR. Wow! I had no idea my family got passed the Rockies! Who knew?! Maybe some day I can get one or more of them to cross the big pond and visit the real homeland of Africa. Now that would be a real family reunion!

Paul,

Thanks for sharing. As you get older, the more you realize how family is so important and all that really matters.

BTW, love Annie Mae’s dress and purse. :-)

So, it was hot, you say? Maybe YOU should just go ahead and plan the reunion in Africa now while everyone is still adjusted to the heat!

Hi Paul,
Loved what you had to say. I thought it was going to be like the last one you know the one about the 2 hour trip. We all enjoyed you as well and your right, we don’t see the family as much as we use to. Maybe we need to plan to have Thanksgiving together as family. That time of year it [is] not “HOT AS HELL”, down here and not too cold.

Now about this trip to Africa. Now you know that aunt Annie Mae is not going for that and you can image all of the things that she would say. Picture all of us in Africa what we would we do?? And most of all what would Larry do??

Well i have spent enough time here i guess i’ll leave room for others. Hope to see you soon.
Love Always your cousins,
Sugar

On behalf of “THE FAMILY”, I want to thank you Paul for your pictures and comments. You truly made Mary’s day by sending her the DVD. Hey just want to let you know “we love you much.”
