Politicians (Republicans and Democrats) often use words and catch phrases in such a way to serve their purpose regardless of the original meaning of the word/phrase. Next thing you know, Jed’s a millionaire and it becomes part of our collective lexicon. Before the Republicans got hold of the word liberal I’m sure it wasn’t that bad to be one!
Came across this in one of the (many) newsletters I read.
